DESCRIPTION: ACES serve as peer mentors for incoming students throughout their first year. ACES work on helping, connecting, and supporting freshmen as they make the transition to SUU. ACES are a first friend and advocate for new students. ACES help with retention campaigns across campus including registration campaigns, drop for non-payments campaigns, etc. ACES work for one year and are required to be in Cedar City during the summer to insure they are available to host new students for Personalized Visits.

DESCRIPTION: The Governor's Honors Academy was founded in 1988 through a vision of Utah corporate and political leaders. The Academy is organized to provide Utah high school students with an opportunity to learn, lead, and interact with some of the foremost leaders in business, technology, humanities, science, education, communication, and social science. Through interaction with leaders and mentors, students enhance their desire to learn and strive for excellence.

DESCRIPTION: The Utah Rural Scholars (RHS) Program prepares students for admission to graduate healthcare programs. Through a series of academic and non-academic experiences, students increase their likelihood of being accepted into medical, dental, physical therapist, occupational therapist, physician assistant, nursing, podiatry, optometry, veterinary, healthcare administration and allied health schools.

Senate Offices: Humanities & Social Sciences [HSS], Education [EDU], Science & Engineering [CoSE], Exploratory Studies, Performing & Visual Arts [PVA], Business [BUS], Engineering and Aerospace Sciences, Graduate School [GRAD] Commit to at least one senate meeting a week as well as one meeting a week within their appointed Committees. Each senator shall also serve on one of three Senate Committees as appointed by the Executive Council. Approve all implemented policies and procedures for the fair use of identified student space, equipment, and resources within SUUSA jurisdiction. Ratify all budgets at the beginning of each fall semester for the next academic year. Approve funding requests from SUUSA student clubs and organizations that are above $200. DESCRIPTION: SUU Outdoors Trip Leaders are students who have a love of the outdoors and helping others experience it. With an emphasis on risk management and group dynamics trip leaders play a pivotal role in bringing the SUU community closer together, engaging with others, exploring the outdoors, and experiencing what it is like to be an #OutsideTBird. 

HOURS: 30-ish hours a semester

GPA REQUIREMENT: 3.0

WHEN TO APPLY: Before mid-terms Fall semesters.

DESCRIPTION: Help lead the SUU Student Section at all sporting events, help plan tailgates, fan fests, watch parties, lead out on cheers at games, make posters to hold in the student section, table for upcoming games, face paint, etc. and most importantly serve as prideful students in not only the athletics world, but SUU as a whole. 

HOURS: 15 hours per week

GPA REQUIREMENT: 2.75

DESCRIPTION: Report on campus events and news for the University Journal magazine and/or SUUNews.net. Employment opportunities are available for reporters, copy editors, photographers, graphic designers and illustrators, and marketing/advertising students.

HOURS: 5 hours per week
