Volunteer at SUMA

Each year we welcome, develop, and support a new group of curious and engaging volunteers from the community to serve our visitors. The rewards of volunteering at SUMA are learning about art and special exhibitions from our curators and educators, finding friends who share an interest in art and education, and the great satisfaction of helping others connect with art that inspires them. Join us!

Candidates of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome. No prior training in art history is required. Training is conducted by SUMA’s educators, curators, and others who present the latest scholarship, as well as the accumulated knowledge of SUMA’s history. Training sessions include lectures by curators, discussions, workshops, written assignments, and oral presentations.

Volunteer List

Museum volunteer leading tour

Right now, due to capacity, we are not actively recruiting volunteers. However, we do keep a running list of those who would be interested in helping with large events. If you would like to be included on this list, please contact Kari Heaps, our Assistant Director, Museum Operations kariheaps@suu.edu
