International Student Housing Options

One very important aspect of your first year is to find housing for the coming semester. If you are a first time student, single, and between the ages of 18-20, then you are highly encouraged to live in University Housing or HomeStay **. Various housing options within the community are available for students who are married or over the age of 21 and choose to live off campus.

University Housing

University Housing promotes a social atmosphere, making it easy to connect with other students. Finding great friends is easy with 17 common recreational, leisure and study spaces, and numerous events and activities. University Housing also provides Resident Assistants that help promote a safe and secure environment, while serving as a resource to help you successfully achieve your academic goals.

Off-Campus Housing

There are several off-campus housing providers that are within walking distance to campus. We highly recommend Stadium Way Apartments, College Way Apartments and Gateway North Apartments. International Student Ambassadors serve as resident assistants at these apartment complexes and are there to help you make connections and to help with any questions you may have about living in the U.S. If you would like more information on these off-campus housing options, please email internationalaid@suu.edu.

HomeStay

Live with a local family, and share their culture! It is also the best way to learn to speak English like an American. As soon as you arrive, you will have:

  • A local family who knows the area and can show you around.
  • An opportunity to improve your English in a natural, fun environment.
  • Exposure to real American culture, food, and daily activities.
  • Help understanding homework and class materials.
  • A place that feels like home, and people that care about your success!

Our HomeStay families are excited to meet you. For more information, visit the HomeStay website.
